I highly recommend Pavlovas to Popcorn by Ruth Frost — a true story told in the voice of one of 15, Australian war brides who left everything familiar to join their American husbands and start a new life in the USA at the end of WWII. An amazing read , Ruth talks of a piece of history unknown to many of us, war brides, her trials and tribulations are astounding. Liz, I am in touch with the author Ruth Frost.
